I Looking at some psu for my sli upgrade 2x 8800gtx`s at the mo i have a Ocz That fits in my stacker just nice, but it only has two pcie cables,so im after somit with a bit more future proof.

1.Enermax Galaxy 1000W EGA1000EWL ATX2.2 Modular PSU
I like this psu but im not sure if it will fit in my case(stacker 830) plus it`s modular.

2.BFG 1000W UK/PFC Approved PSU
Not seen any good reviews on this at all, but looks like it should fit ok.

Thx.

Ive got a Galaxy 1000 on order, did a bit of snooping to find it at an equal price to what overclockers stock the bfg at, so i decided that was the one to go for and i could rest easy with complete peace of mind for my hardware, I am also going to be getting SLi g80gtx and from what ive read over the time ive been researching the galaxy its the bees knees - of course i wouldnt expect anything less. The Bfg i cant comment on but i think It might end up getting lost at the 1kw range, when a consumer is going to pay so much for a power supply it is my opinion that saving 10 - 20 pounds instead of going for the absolute tried tested and loved solution will be a rare occurrence.

IMO get the Galaxy. If your not planning on running lots of other hardware then the galaxy 850 might get a look in.

oh and while reading reviews on the galaxy 1kw I found that it was just under 9 inches long, I dont have a stacker 830 to check but you might want to check yours, also worth note is that there are a fair few cables hardwired into the Galaxy so make sure you have clearence - im sure therell be plenty - to bend the cables round.

SLI for 8800 is not out yet, it is to come out in a future driver release. Sorry if you already knew that...

Nope i didnt, how come ive seen people testing them in sli

Whoops!

Sorry i just saw in the specifications for it that it didnt support it:

- SLI ready – Upto 2x the performance of a single GPU (Available on with future driver release)

Needs to be updated.

i would do a bit of google searching on reviews....there's bound to be sound involving thr stacker and those psus

It is 220 mm long im sure it will fit but i will lose the top fan as there are brackets in the way, need to have a good look at my case tomorrow.

I have a Enermax Galaxy 1000W EGA1000EWL ATX2.2 Modular PSU in my
Stacker 830 i had to remove/snap off the 2 lugs that hold the top case fan in place.

It's a very nice PSU i thought that the Seasonic 600 psu was good until
i fitted the Enermax........

I belive you have sli m8 am i wrong? if so how do you rate it over a single card.

Well I've been using dual GPU set-ups now since I got my 24" monitor and as long as the game supports it it's brilliant, can play anything with all the graphics turned right up.

Any chance you can post a piccy of the psu in the case m8, please :)

Jokester you are the one that made my mind up to buy the DELL 24"" in the first place and for that i thank you, as it`s been a very good monitor indeed :D

hi

why don't you fit the PSU in as far as it goes without removing the top fan, then measure up and add a support bracket to the rear of the case,

Im trying to get hold of the stacker 830 evolution ans this will take the bigger psu, plus it has a clear case to mount the raptor x inplace of the top 120mm fan, finding one is the problem.

I have the CM 830 stacker, At present I am using a standard psu £24 600w on my rig and I am looking to update it to a more quiet psu. Note I run my rig e6600 @3.6 24/7 on the cheep psu with no problems for a couple of months now! :) The only concern I would have is if you are considering h20 cooling although the 830 is a beautiful case its quite difficult to mod internal radiators into it the only place I found I could mount my swiftech twin rad was at the top of the case behind the psu so take care. I have also noted a couple of new psus on the market who build for the main players such as (Antec) a company called xclio are producing modular psu's with 14 cm fans with a fair review on other forums.
Take a look at spcification on xclio web site. They may be worth getting in stock here on OC as they are cheaper than the major brands but badged under the generic brand I am sure as they catch on thier price will increase

Ps has anyone w/c their cm 830 with mote than one twin radiator if you have please post a few pictures if poss thanks.

HI

try a search over on www.extremesystems.org there used to be some of a guy that put a dual radiator set up hanging on the door that would normally carry the 4 fans

sorry don't have a link just remember reading about his set up and was very impressed with it
