I have been a Canon 1000d owner for a long time now and have enjoyed the shots I have taken, however I have found little things that annoy me when using the camera in general which has made me consider a more simple approach.
The size of a dslr isnt always ideal when out and about on walks and doing other things other than just photography. Also in such situations changing lens can be a pain.
Finally the zoom is very limited on my 300mm lens and is hard to increase unless spending big money.
All these problems make the p510 appealing with its 42X zoom, however im used to all the fancy options one gets with a half good dslr and the crisp image quality, will I loose most of these if I move away from the 1000d.
