Hello,

Im in the search of psu for my upgraded pc(7800x3d/b650e) with the aim of upgrading to 40series card in the near future, so preferably atx3.0 for the future proofing. Guessing seasonic 1000w will be safe for couple of gpu gens?
I’ve found some conflicting posts and reviews online regarding atx3.0 on prime/gx models. Some negative comments about new vertex line specially created for intel 3.0 standard.
Could you help me with advice and clearing up confusion?

I always had seasonic and even though it has failed once they’ve sent upgraded replacements, so can’t fault the service.

Im leaning towards 4080 or maybe 4070ti super if it comes with 16gb later this year.

Main reason for this topic is I don’t want to spend £170 for a psu now and in 3-4 again £200+ because it doesn’t support some features an prevents me from just dropping in new gpu.

Will focus gx be the same performance/safety wise as vertex version? Power rating aside.

Mine arrived today and being ready for 4000 series gpu it came with 12vhpwr cable, but no 8+8 pcie like my current 650w has. Can I use 2x separate pcie cables supplied to power 3070 for the time being?
