Hi all, just a quick question. I'll probably be upgrading my psu soon and want to make sure I'm definitely covered for whatever gpu's I end up getting (up to possibly tri-fire 290x) so I want go for something pretty meaty. In the 1000w+ area are Superflower and EVGA pretty much the best choices for quality or are there any others I should be considering?

Many Thanks,

Ross

Yeah I'm leaning towards the EVGA ones for those exact reasons myself.
It will be going in the machine in my sig but only when I also upgrade the gpus. My current psu is a good few years old now and wasn't a very good model even when it was new so I want something decent when putting more strain on it. I think the 1000w will probably be more than enough but then it's only an extra £10 to upgrade to the 1300. Are there any particular downsides to running a well over specced psu?

Yeah most likely worst case will be a pair of 290x's but a very outside chance of going trifire 290x. Only reason I really considered the 1300w is that if I'm going to spend £140 anyway then I might as well spend the extra tenner to get 30% more power :)

Ok well the Black Friday deals made my mind up for me in the end. I've gone for an 850w Superflower and a nice Gigabyte 295x2 to go with it. Should be plenty of power for that and I doubt I'll need to be going tri-fire any time soon now :)
