My 4850 runs at 100c-110c on stock cooler (25%)

i like to keep it silent and cant get a new cooler yet

will this kill my gpu?

If you stay at that temp too long, the money you will be spending on a new cooler will be going towards a replacement graphics card.

everything is at stock

and my case has the best cooling and cable management ever!

i just tested stock fan speed for silence

im gona buy a new 1 :)

thats WAY too hot.
if the card died i would not be surprised.
For a CPU yes, however for a GPU it would be ok. However I would recommend a custom cooler which will be both silent and keep the temps down as well.

My 4870 with AS1 cooler (with two silent 92mm fans) sits at about 40c in Windows and not much higher during games.

I agree with Duke normally a GPU can go up to 140C then it'll start acting funny and chances are it'll burn up. But yerr i wouldn't allow my GPU anywhere near 60-70 nevermind 100C.
If you nosey on the manufacturers website chances are it'll tell you what temp it'll burn up on. But from my experience you still have some head room.

Either go with the new cooler or why not just create new fan profiles for games? When playing games a louder fan isn't really an issue

already ordered the blue vortex today :(
