Hi I have got my setup connected to a 100 hz led tv, and i am trying to find away to get 100 hz refresh, reason being is i notice a lot of flickering in fast games were at first i mistaken for screen tearing

Am thinking its most likely that ill need to purchase a better hdmi cable, as i think mine only support upto 60hz

The question i am asking is i have read in the manual of my card which is a gainwood gtx 580 that the dvi sockets only support upto 60 hz at 1920 x 1080

And because the hdmi is a mini adaptor i think ill struggle finding one which is a long cable which i need minimum 7 metres.

To put to test we the mini hdmi i put tv next to pc and even that only shows 60hz

Has anyone on here connected a nvidia gtx 580 or recent cards with mini hdmi recently who could perhaps advise me

Thanks very much

The likelihood is your TV only outputs 100Hz, but only accepts 60Hz input, and essentially interpolates between frames in an effort to reduce motion blur.

To address the screen tearing issue, enable V-Sync in the games that suffer from it.

Model i got is lgle5900 and it has trumotion 100 hz on it i messed we that few times

I have enabled vsync on games which have had problems and only slight improvements

If Vsync is not fixing the issue, it is probably the 100Hz functionality that is causing the issues. Can it be disabled?

I just checked with the mini hdmi to hdmi cable again which i think is 1.4 and it seemed better, so am thinking that was problem i just hope if i get a long hdmi 1.4 cable that the dvi supports 1.4 on the gainwood gtx 580.

If not ill need a mini hdmi to hdmi 1.4 convertor perhaps
