Hi

I just noticed there is now a 1024mb 4870 listed on this site as coming out at the end of the month.
I have already got 1 512mb 4870 card and was going to get a second one soon but is it worth getting one of the 1024mb one's instead or would it just cut the RAM down to 512mb?

Also with 1500mb video ram would my 4gb of ram be cut back even more (it's already at 3320mb or something like that) cause if so I'll have to get a copy of vista 64 as well.

Cheers

No, it's not your total video RAM that disappears, it's the memory addressing block that the card is accessed through. Like what used to be called AGP aperture.

I show 3.5GB of RAM in 32bit, but have a 768MB card.

not sure about the 512 and 1024 mb 4870 CF but you ram will be cut back as 32 bit OS can only see 4GB of ram in total inc whats on your graphics card.

3500+768+system addresses=4GB?
nope.

you do N O T lose the full amount of video RAM.

If you did, I would need to ask for a refund on my apparently 300MB GTX.
