Trying to overclock on an asus m4a785td-v evo mobo and I want to oc to 4ghz,I don't know what settings I need in the bios as I've never done overclocking this way so if someone could help it would be great, also my ram is 8gb 1600mhz patriot black mamba, thanks

You're going to need to Google an overclocking guide.

The first thing to note is that your processor does not have an unlocked multiplier so you cannot raise it. You have to increase the HT reference clock instead. With 1600MHz RAM this should not be an issue. Your motherboard has good voltage regulators so if you have a good cooler 4GHz should be attainable.

Have been searching for the past hour or so but it's just all too confusing to me, which is why i would prefer if someone would be able to give me the settings to just input :(

Multiplier is also stuck at 16.5,anyone?
LOL, maybe try to set up "CPU overclocking" from "Auto" to "Manual" first ? :)

Allready have, i just posted this pics with most of the default bios settings for people to help me, its locked at 16.5 because 1055t has a locked multiplier

its not a 2 min job my friend, the first thing you need is to tell us what cooler you have and what your cpu v-core and core temp is at full load, so using prime in a loop and hwmonitor for 10mins to see if you have good cooling at this early stage on.

Its a long winded process, thuban is a little different to deneb, but basically you need to find 3 main things, I'm not going to tell you how to get there though you'll have to google and theres certain things you need to do before you just crank the ht ref up which i'll give you a clue, ht link and memory dividers, (altho thuban more tolerant of high ht link).

1. You need to find your max ht ref ( so say example 285 ht ref x 12 multi would be max.)
2. You need to find you max stable cpu frequency in reference to v-core, temps,
3. Once you know the max of those two then play with your cpu-nb, and memory timings

Heres a guide although for a beginner probably a little complex although you might be ok.

nope sorry thats cheating, and anyway how would you learn? Anyways each bit of hardware is different so you couldn't rely on it being stable
