I'm trying to establish which 2x2gb 1066 (PC8500) memory kit I should get for either the GA-MA790X-UD3P or the GA-MA790X-UD4P.

Originally I was going for this OCZ gold kit - i'm even more tempted now its on offer.
However, a quick look over at the OCZ forum shows some people having compatibility issues with their memory and AM2+ boards.

Next I've looked into this Corsair Twinx kit which is on pre order, however their RAM compatibility selector tool doesn't list either these boards.

However, the description of the Corsair stuff does say "If you are looking for extra performance or reliability in your Intel or AMD DDR2 system, the Corsair 4GB 1066MHz DDR2 memory kit offers this solution!"

Does anyone have any experience with 4gb 1066 kits on AM2+ boards... they don't have to be gigabyte (since the memory controller is on the CPU)?

Whilst those OCZ blades look very nice, they are somewhat over the £40 budget i've set :-(

This is a build for my nephew so I wonder if I'm better off just going for any of the PC6400 C4 kits since from a stability and ease of build point of view.

PC8500 just seemed like the natural choice for a 7850 BE!
