1066MHz memory wont run at full speed

I have just got a stable overclock on my machine having increased from 3.16GHz to 4.0GHz

However in trying to increase my DRAM frequency from the auto setting to 1063MHz the stability of my system in prime is horrendous and the torture tests last seconds. So at the moment it is set at around the 800MHz setting and this works out fine, but my memory is capable of 1066MHz and so thats what i want to achieve.

I have manually input the timings and the voltage but these have had no effect on the stability. So can anyone suggest a solution to getting my memory upto full speed.

Spec:
Asus P5Qc Mobo
Intel E8500 3.16 @4.0 (9.5 * 242)
Cosair XMS2 4Gb DDR2 1066MHz ram (7-7-7-20 @ 2.0 volts)

I have asked this question before on the tail end of another thread, but didnt really get much of a response so i thought id start a new thread specifically for this.

Thanks

Tom

Ok i have dropped my fsb to stock (9.5 * 333) back to square one effectively and i upped my memory speed to 1066MHz and prime runs ok.

But when i increase my fsb to 424 (9.5*424) i get errors running my memory at 1063MHz so i have to drop it back down.

Any suggestions?

why you trying 424MHz?

the fact that you're overclocking your cpu via fsb you're going to change the speed that works at. either have the cpu and ram at stock speeds or overclock your cpu and make due with less ram speed.
