I managed to get a 1070 on the cheap from Gumtree, mainly for gaming but I thought i'd have a play with mining.
Anyway, i've been reading about how overclocking the memory whilst mining Ethereum and i'm just slightly considered that I could cause damage to the GPU. I realise there's risk involved but i'm hoping that as long as i'm not putting more power through the card then it should be fairly safe?

These are my current settings, it seems to be stable but it also seems like it might be high on the memory oc?

Anyway, what do you think?

No point unles ur in a pool and running 24/7 for a month to see any sort of investment worthwhile. It prob will take you 2-3 month running 24/7 to get the profit value worth of your card back from mining. Taking into consideration electric bill etc

Yes it will take about 2 months at current rates to pay for my card. I'm happy to leave it running in a pool if i'm not pushing it too much to pay it off.

I'm interested in the memory overclock and whether there are limits I should stick within?

just join a pool, run it 24/7 as you've indicated you are happy to do. Obviously you won't gain anything if you don't run it as much as possible! Does look like you are going for quite a big overclock on the memory though. However, I would have thought if the temps are good and everything seems to be stable then happy days.

It has been running like this for a couple of weeks now without any problem.

I've down clocked the GPU clock a bit but other than that I've stuck with similar settings. I can squeeze a little more out of the memory but it needs more power and starts getting unstable.
Occasionally when I come to use the PC it freezes and needs a reboot but it's happy chugging away mining otherwise.

temps sit around 65c.
