Hi all,

So I thought it was time to finally upgrade my 560ti and get back into the world of PC gaming, but so far its a rocky start.. I bought an EVGA 1070 second hand off the big online marketplace and got it yesterday, I uninstalled all the old drivers and inserted it. Now this is where the problem starts, I press the power button but nothing happens, dead. I take out the power from the 1070 and then it starts but nothing appears on screen. I thought it may be a PSU issue so I got a new 650w EVGA 650G2 delivered today, but still the problem hasn't gone away. So it isn't the PSU from what I gather. Now, when I insert the old card it boots up as normal so from that I don't think it's the motherboard either? Or could it be? It's getting on a bit now as it's an Asus M5A99FX with 8GB Ram installed and an Asus soundcard. I've tried reinserting all the power cables but nada.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as it's driving me up the wall!

Damn, that's what I was thinking. It is under warranty still so I'll ask about it. The motherboard doesn't have onboard graphics as far as I'm aware and the CPU is an FX 8350.

Thanks for your replies!

Oh right, I'll have a further look into that, thanks for finding that out. I'll check it at the computer shop (just moved and no friends with PCs here..). May be the excuse I need to upgrade :p

Just an update on this for anyone in the same situation, turns out it was the 1070. Thankfully EVGA are very good with their warranties so it's going back for replacement.
