I was interested after seeing the again the 1080Ti FE throttles.
i wondered how much does my 1080 Throttle?

Test setup:
Overwatch 1440p Epic (Dyamic shadows off)
FPS 143FPS constant
20 Minutes per Test.

with 80% fan profile
Worst Clock 1822Mhz
Average 1833Mhz
Best Clock 1846Mhz
Temperature 65c

Standard Profile
Worst Clock 1797Mhz
Average 1800Mhz
Best Clock 1833Mhz
Temperature 80c

I know this is not scientific was just interesting numbers,

i reran the standard profile & made sure it hit 84c so it thermal throttled.
Worst Clock 1797Mhz

so in summary on my card at least you only lose 50Mhz

Four questions if I may :

1. How loud subjectively to you is the 80% fan profile playing a stealth game (where you need to hear audio cues) using speakers?
2. Would it be fair to say your FE even with an 80% fan profile is still 250MHz below where its optimal cooling profile could be (subject to further testing)?
3. Are you thinking or intending to replace the standard FE cooler?
4. Did you buy (or aquire) an EVGA 1080Ti FE?

1.80% is pretty loud i can hear it from the next room. (just) but if you use 70% its ok. and still get 70c
2. not sure what you mean?
3. No
4. i'm tempted, To buy a 1080Ti Fe or AiB that's why i was looking to see how much in theory it would throttle.

im tempted by FE as it wont hamper my other cooling in my case
