Hi, wondering if anyone can help.

Booted my computer up this morning to be presented with garbled graphics before windows had finished loading. After waiting for quite some time I had to force a hard reboot, on boot up I then got a BSOD (images below).
This happened each time I rebooted, I either received garbled graphical blocks of varying colours or a BSOD error. I switched to the onboard graphics to get the system to load and it booted up fine, I then uninstalled the 1080 drivers and software and rebooted.
This time it booted up fine but in low resolution and in device manager came up as 'Microsoft Basic Display Adapter' it let me switch to 1920 * 1080 and all appeared as normal apart from it will not run any games giving an error saying my card does not meet minimum requirements.

I reinstalled the Nvidia drivers and part way through the install I received the garbled display again and the system locked up. Another few reboots with the same results I switched back to the other card and this time used DDU from safe mode to make sure all remnants of the Nvidia card were removed and tried a reinstall, only to receive the same results.

The card is the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 WindfForce 8192MB GDDR5X PCI-Express Graphics Card (GV-N1080WF3OC-8GD) I have had it for just over 5 months.

Other than uninstalling the drivers the only other thing I could think to try was reseating the card to make sure it was ok but that hasn't made any difference. The computer boots fine using the onboard graphics and everything seems fine, it plays games ok albeit with lower graphics settings.

Thanks for any help my other specs and images are as follows:

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 WindfForce
Intel Core i7-7700K 4.2GHz (Kaby Lake) Socket LGA1151 Processor
Asus Prime Z270-A Intel Z270 (Socket 1151) DDR4 ATX Motherboard
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-24000C15 3000MHz Dual Channel Kit

Worth mentioning maybe that nothing is overclocked.

Thank you very much for the replies, I was hoping it wouldn't be as drastic as that. I will get on to customer support and see if I can get something sorted out.

Again thank you very much :)
