1080 range price forecast

So why am I getting multiple notifications a day about US$200 - 300 price drops on 10 series in the States? Is this related to currency losses that UK vendors are currently sitting on due to the state of the £ - I thought I'd seen it suggested somewhere? Would also jump straight in if the Ti dropped in the range £550 - £600.

We’re pushing but I suppose it comes down to lots of stock still in Uk channel high price.

But in fairness 1080’s have been as low as around £370 plus vat which is around $450

I'm after a new 1080Ti* do you think there is any chance they'll dip below £500 new before all the stock is gone? (*preferably Gigabyte)

I think £500 could be optimistic - US prices are coming in at US$599 on the Ti, if you add sales tax (assuming UK VAT @ 20%) that brings it in around £560.

* This looks achievable if you take a 20% discount (which they're giving in the US) off the £575 pre-VAT price of the cheapest OCUK 1080Ti

There was a Zotac 1080Ti on amazon US for $529 a couple of days ago.Price has shot back up now though. I suspect 2080Ti sales have not been as good as they hoped.

A 2070 maybe worth a buy, keep looking out until the reviews, but if priced right, and non RT performance is good, RT aside it could be the card to go for.

All right, 7nm prediction, the 3070 will be priced as the 2080 is now, we are just stepping up each card now, not sure how much longer it can go on. If the 2070 no RT performs near 1080ti, then for around the same cost it makes sense to go 2070 and never use RT. I'm not happy about it, and prolly won't touch it, but if it makes sense, and we won't know that until the reviews, then it maybe the best option.

edit: i'm thinking 980ti vs 1070, power saving and mining wise, 8 vs 11GB is also a consideration, basically wait for the reviews I guess lolz
