With the pre-orders coming soon, when will the new Nvidia HB SLi bridge be available to order? ideally I'd like to buy the cards and the bridge together!
It's a weird situation, because traditional SLI bridges have been supplied with motherboards, not GPU's.
Is it definitely the case that there aren't SLI bridges in the box?
For all that it would cost Nvidia and the high price of the 1080.. just stick one in the box with the card. That way eveyone has them and it might encourage them to SLI in the future = another sold GPU for Nvidia.
Hard for them to do that though considering pci-e slots on boards can be different lengths apart. They'd really have to include 2 to cover most configs I'd say.
isn't it so that a flexible bridge is 400mhz and a rigid is 540mhz as far as I have understood.
Original Nvidia SLI Bridges are 400 Mhz pixel clock
EVGA V2's are 540Mhz pixel clock and cover both slots.
New Nvidia 1080 bridges are 650Mhz pixel clock.
You might find the EVGA V2's will actually work at slightly reduced performance...
