1080i versus 720p

Which is better for the PS3, 1080i or 720p? I've tried both but couldn't spot any differences in GT HD.

That's because the PS3 can't even do 1080i on some of its games.

I personally find 1080i better than 720p, if a game can run both.

720p appears visibly more jaggy to me. This is more of an issue with the PS3 really, since none of its games seem to do anti-aliasing.

I guess thats because they're scaled down and interlaced giving an affect of anti aliasing. I would assume as a result of this there is some texture detail lost?
