Hello, long time lurker, occasional poster.

I only really play Rainbow Six Siege, been waiting like most for years and with no new mid-range cards out I am wondering what is the best option for me to play 1080p 240 but ideally 360 Hz (Competitive low/med settings).

I am gaming on a 5800u laptop and have even considered building new system and putting in my amd rx 280 (this is what I am upgrading from so I guess you could just consider me a new builder - 5800u APU may be similar to the 280 for all I know).

Ive waited a long time, might just go for 6700xt at 299. But the card is years old. Open to consider used market for stop gap as at lowest settings Siege is not demanding.

Think like most I am waiting for 7700xt or lower price for 4060ti/4070
. Thoughts

6700xt is bang on the money for your requirements and just because it's last generation doesn't mean it card perform well . Always bast to slightly overspec to allow for variation and dips in FPS

Boils down to what you want to pay .

Having a quick scoot around on YouTube, I think you can achieve that (360 fps @ 1080p) with a 6700 XT.

GN also include it in their reviews, which might help to judge:

(They used a 10700K in the review)

Thank you for the confirmation. Nice to see the GN video in the context of 2021 then recent comments saying how now it is the best bang-for-buck option given the nVidia 4000 series pricing and the witholding of the 7700xt.

Think I am gonna hold until the end of the Starfield offer.

You couldn't even buy a 6600 for £300 back then, it was pretty bad :o

For a long time, I think the only decent option (price/performance) was the 3060 Ti FE (£369?).

The 6700 non-XT was available for £300 at one point, but then prices went up some and it disappeared.

£300 is the best price for a card like the 6700 XT that we've seen for some time.
