Im looking for a solid HTPC for my front room tv (1080p) max, that will pretty much run anything thrown at it on max settings.

Spec wise im happy with the items below, however im wondering if someone could recommend better RAM? Maybe a lower Mhz but better latency - OC dont seem to sell Veloce memory.

Also any opinions on the case?

I believe it's generally considered that Gigabyte's Z87 boards are superior, and as it's an HTPC build I assume you're also looking to run movies on it. Therefore I would recommend something with a great sound-chip on board, such as the G1 Sniper M5.

Also take a look at the Super Flower PSUs. They are top notch, and slightly cheaper than the Corsair option.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte G1.Sniper M5 Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard £154.99
1 x SuperFlower Golden Green HX 650W "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply - Black £73.99
Total : £238.58 (includes shipping : £8.00).

edit: Of course if the case take s full size ATX board you could just get the G1.Sniper, which is a bit cheaper than the M5.

thanks for the feedback, build has been adjusted.

In terms of audio I have an AV amp, I assumed (possibly wrongly?) that the graphics card would pass the audio on the same hdmi cable for the amp to decode?

I can vouch for the axp-100 being a quiet cooler, should see a mild overclock on it too if that's your intention.

And yes the audio will pass through HDMI, if using this then you need not worry about the quality of onboard sound.

thanks ive never heard of TeamGroup - are they a decent make? Would I not be better getting a lower latency Ram at a lower clock speed (only used for media and gaming)
