As per title, I’m gaming at 1080p on a BenQ XL2411T 144Hz Monitor which is getting the pixels thrown at it by a Vega 56 GPU.
The monitor has DVI and HDMI inputs and the GPU has DP and HDMI outputs. After taking advice at the time of getting a previous non-DVI GPU, I was using a DVI<>DVI cable with a Star Tech DP>DVI adaptor at the GPU end and seeing frames rates above 100fps on the RTSand SP FPS games I play.
However, I was getting intermittent and then permanent “no signal detected” messages today when I booted the PC. PC appeared to be booting normally, but without any output to the monitor. Switching to an old HDMI cables fixed this straight away.
My questions are:
1. At 1080p, what (if any) limitations does an HDMI cable bring with it?
2. What’s the best DP>DVI cable available?
Thanks in advance.
