Hi all,

looking to order a new monitor for my brothers Xmas as he’s playing on a really rubbish 21 generic monitor.

I am looking to see if anyone has recommendations on monitors that are available now.

his PC won’t support anything higher than 1080p and size needs to be 27inch +.

budget is £100 - £200 but the lower end of that budget the better.

It's not 27", it's a 24", but really are you sure you want 27"? It's not only more expensive but it's also very pixelated at 1080p.

That monitor is a 75Hz Freesync, it's IPS and it's colour calibrated and only just over £100 if you find it in the right store. It's not the latest tech, its a few years old but it's really good value.

Very pixelated is quite an exaggeration. The difference between 24" and 27" really isn't very noticeable IMO.

You are talking to someone who thinks 24" 1080P is pixelated! OK, then perhaps an iiyama G-Master G2730HSU-B1 27". It's a bit more expensive but it's a good monitor for the money. Unlike the first one it is not IPS so more of a gaming oriented monitor. In case you never heard of them, iiyama were big back in the day but almost got wiped out when LCD monitors appeared. Now they are starting to get big again. They are a budget line but offer good quality and good support.

You're talking to someone who uses a 43" 4K screen so I get it, just thought it was a bit much to claim it was very pixelated.

I mean, personally I would always go size, resolution, speed in that order but I'm not so much of a gamer so..
