Hi ...

This has more than likely been done to death already as a debate.

However i do a fare bit of photo editing and in the market place for a 27" monitor
I don't do games ( no offence to the big up gamers )

Question is will 1440p really display a difference over 1080p in relation to visualization and price ( not so much on cost )

Really like the AOC Q2770Pqu 27" and happy to get this, but is there anything out there in the 1080p that will change my mind, etc.

Thanks in advance for the advice and guidance. ;)

The higher resolution the better in my opinion. Especially for editing and graphical work, 1080p is just too limiting for productive work.

1440p.
I have a 27 at 1080p and wish I went 24.
I game but if you do things where detail is important then resolution is what you need. What about 4k as they're getting reasonable now?

I have considered 4k however I am only running an R7 250a graphics card which will probably die at the mention of 4k res. I am looking in the future to upgrade the card to an R9 280 at minimum, plus an upgrade PSU from my 500 watt to a seasonic 650 g series. But funds with existing spec will lead me to stay with 1440p I guess

27" 1440 for me .
Do like screen acreage.
But do try it some people do not find the size of text acceptable - small.
My eyesight is not as good as it was but find 1440 fine for me; just have to sit a little nearer.

That's a fare one i guess, but in relation to photo's it will be great to edit using adobe LR 5 ....

I am hoping that someone will post a thread with the settings of the New AOC Q2770pqu at there best as out of the box its not quite calibrated to the Dell for example.

There are some settings in the link to the review i posted have you tried those :)

On the surface of things - 1080p at 27" is brilliant, as far as I'm concerned.
However, even I can see the glaring higher rez of 1440p at that size and anything higher is equally noticable.

16:10 is preferable IMO but you should really be looking at colour spaces (sRGB/AdobeRGB) and how much of those the monitor supports/reproduces for photo editing.

Aside from gamma they weren't mentioned in the calibration section because they aren't setting I'd consider attractive to use. They were mentioned elsewhere in the review, however. It's all covered.

Ok cheers, will have to have a closer read of the review .... :)
