1080Ti Founders Edition Pulled from E-tailers

Is there any purpose for this thread to remain open? The OP has posted a statement as if it were fact without support or evidence to backup his claims.

Oooh.. Look at that.. A few months on and almost ZERO 1080Ti Founders editions at E-tailers...

Urghh, isn't the same as what you said/suggested in your OP. You can pick up a founders edition card by one of the manufactures cheaper than direct from Nvidia so why stock them when EVGA, Palit and similar are offering them accordingly.

However with that you can if you so wish pick up an actual GeForce edition and you stated that it would be 2 per household which is still rubbish. Honestly full of FUD.

There are times that you can post sources and times that information is given from manufacturers and distributers that will have no other source than the information given.

if you are running multiple cards then blower cards are better than open air. if your running a single card in a large case with lots of fans then open air is better. if a single card in a small case with only a few fans then blower is better.

blower cards expel most of the heat outside the case so it has little knock on effect of other components.

as for motherboard cooling what is the best way to ensure decent airflow over a motherboard? lots of case fans and a big CPU cooler with a big fan pulling in cold air from the front and exhusting out the back of the case? or is it better to have have a cpu cooler with blows hot air down through the fins and then onto the motherboard? is it better to have hot air directly over a motherboard than cold air over the top?

Kaap, the room must be like a sauna. I've got one of them hooked up to 720mm of rad space (CPU on air) and the place gets hot after an hour of gaming (especially VR).

What rad space do you have for 4... I would assume 720mm if you've got the CPU in the loop too?

My rads are a bit like plug and play with quick disconnects.

I have quite a few rads but to answer your question for gaming on 4 cards for extended periods I would use one of my PCs with 3 x 480mm rads in it.

If that was not enough I have a couple of huge floor standing 420mm x 420mm rads.

Failing that there is the chiller !!!

No car radiators? I'm shocked.... :p

Nope my floor standing ones are probably too big to fit in a car.:D

Legend says that Kaap plays in nothing other than a mankini to keep cool.

Well several of the biggest etailers here in Denmark have 0 1080ti founders edition cards for sale. Not even on backorder. So i guess that gives his statement some merit.

Reference cards do usually dry up at some point. The original post was from June saying "effective immediately". Its now october. This smacks more of a stopped clock being right twice a day than the statement made in June actually being correct at that point.

I could say the same about vega 56 and 64 and eventualy I'd be right, but claiming some sort of victory for saying something is happening "immediately" some 4 months later, not so much. They werent even "pulled" as that would be retailers being forced to return stock.

We will never know but Amazon could not re order evga Fe cards from late June as I had one on back order which kept getting extended and their words were they don't know if they can ever get them again. It's likely they stopped production around then and just sold what's left but who knows.
