1080Ti HDMI audio issue

Hello,
Having a really weird problem with my new Palit 1080Ti. I use an AV receiver and also have a new 4k OLED TV. I also have another 2 monitors connected via HDMI to DP to adapters as well as a 3rd using USB to HDMI.

My receiver unfortunately doesns't support 4k60hz passthrough, only 30hz so I have the HDMI port on the Ti into the receiver, and then use one of the DP to HDMI adapters from the Ti to connect directly to the TV. To begin with everything was working fine, picture on TV, audio through the receiver. However after trying to sort out 10bit colour last night (and failing - probably more due to the fact none of my monitors aside from the OLED support it and are all plugged in at once but am happy to ignore that for the moment) for some reason I have no sound coming out of my receiver, unlike most problems i've googled:

The receiver shows up in Playback devices and displays all the correct formats, DTS-HD, TrueAudio etc and if I run the sound test the volume bar is moving indicating the sound is coming out but there is simply no sound and my receiver displays 'No signal'. The receiver works fine with its own sound test and ARC via the TV's built in Netflix/Amazon apps but I just can't get any sound out of the PC. I have tried disabling/enabling, uninstall/reinstall and all the usual suspects and of course making sure the receiver is set as the default playback device. I can only assume its the PC as said because the receiver works fine in all other situations and it was fully working before. I have also tried changing the HDMI cable from the receiver to the Ti.

Has anyone experienced anything like this or have any potential solutions? It's the fact that the volume level shows audio playing in Playback devices but still no sound has me really stumped. Using the latest drivers from Nvidia's site.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers.
