1080ti non-reference - best options?

Recently got my hands on a fairly well priced 1080ti.
Before going ahead with the stop-gap kraken G10 plate + AIO and thus voiding any potential warranty remaining... I'm curious what my options are.

I'm moving to a full custom loop in the... mid-future (probably by the year end). What's generally the best option on a non-ref card that's never likely to have block made for it? I don't care even the tiniest amount about looks. Is a GPU core block only + heatsinks/etc for memory/vrms a reasonable solution? Is there anything better that I perhaps don't know about (like a very compatible faceplate setup).

If there's a decent solution, I don't mind voiding and going kraken till I go up to full loop, otherwise... it seems like selling this on and getting a founders sorted might well be a plan.

If anyone happens to know of a full-face block that works well/with little modification on a Palit gamerock 1080ti that would ofc be amazing.

You could do a thermosphere block on dat no probs ,would need to use heatsinks on the vrms/mems aswell tho.Its not that difficult to do,off a quick search tis a custom PCB layout so full cover blocks are a no go

Whats your current setup?
 
currently got it sat on air. The 980ti it's replacing still attached to the AIO assigned to GPU duties in my build. Just... eh, wondering a bit before I break warranty seals if it's worth it or just sell for a small loss and get a founders card. Figured it might well be a GPU block only effort.

Water wise - currently 2xaio. Going to be moving to a 480mm rad I'd like to plumb both CPU and GPU into.
 
Contact Aquatuning/Alphacool. They may still be taking cards to design blocks off. They'd send you a free block after borrowing the card to measure it, if they still offer the service.

1080 Ti is a hot card to run with CPU off 480mm rad space, which CPU is it?
 
As per sig. 2700x. There's probably a 240 in too.
Basically going to move over to full water on cpu (taking its aio out and putting on the 480) and run aio on gpu as well (240). When I get a solution for the 1080ti, I then replace it's 240aio with a full water rad.
Guess I could stick with the 240 aio if it's the better option. I kinda get the gpu heat might "poison the waterhole" kinda thing.
Going to full pwm gt's eventually too so cooling should be on point.
