1080ti vs 1080 vs wait

One point i dont think is raised, if you buy a 1080 now thats been sitting in a warehouse for 12 months, doesnt that effectively reduce your warranty by one year? I know that would be the case with one manufacturer, and thats a legit reason to consider for the long term.

Which manufacturer?

I thought warranty usually started from the day of purchase?

Could those right on the fence, assuming they were fairly confident in something coming out in the next month or so, just buy an EVGA card and use the 'step up' program?

I thought that was US only

Edit: My Bad..
The EVGA Step-Up program is currently only available to residents of the United States, Canada, and EU Countries.

SSD's have fallen in price massively, £79.99 for a 500G at OcUK. :)
PSU I shall get my buyer on the case, but a decent 600W or higher should cover a 1080 no problem, maybe grab 700W to have some headroom and make sure its Gold certified minimum.
Why are you posting about PSU's on a GPU thread??

Because there was a reference, is there a problem?

It does, from day of purchase!

Hey Gibbo, sorry to reasurect the thread like this, not even sure you can help.
I purchased the graphics card you advised me on, it arrived this morning. I just put it in my PC, powered it up, the third fan wasn't spinning though. Neither was the little one on the front, it was trying to, but it wasn't working, almost like it was jammed, it's since started spinning though. There was some screeching type noise coming from the GPU when I would tab into a game, I just took the GPU out, attempted to spin all fans with my finger, and the third fan is catching and scraping on something inside. Perhaps explains why it wasn't spinning in my PC. What do I do? my advice?

I have a r9 290 and thats roughly as fast as a 970, all my games run smooth enough to play, I dont know if its the same in your case regardless if the card is being maxed out.. I dont really see the point of buying new gpu's untill things get chuggy in games at med to high settings?

Check the shroud, you might just need to very gently persuade it a little to give the fan freedom if your happy to do that. Otherwise simply return it to us for exchange/refund. :)
