Hi all,
I've been playing with my 10900k and have found even at stock the VID seems to be a bit high. I'm using it with an Asus Maximus XII Formula, but have enhancements disabled (i.e. the chip is running at intel's stock configuration).
It boosts to 4.9 Ghz as expected, however I'm seeing the VID go all the way to 1.4v on some cores just when booting windows and sitting idle browsing chrome (i.e. writing this post). The vcore however still sits very low at this time. In cinebench, the VID is again hitting up-to 1.42, with vcore topping out around 1.261v.
So is this expected? Does anyone know why there is such a big disparity between VID and Vcore? Has this chip just got a terrible stock VID table? And is there any way to fix this?
And for cooling, I'm using a mora3 420 radiator, hitting around 60C max during load.
Thanks!
