The 95w 1055Twill work in your board, but I would go for thePhenom II X4 Quad Core 850 "95W Edition" if it's for games as it's about £40 cheaper.

Don't think it's a good idea to go the "Phenom II" X4 850, as it is bascially just a Athlon II X4 under the Phenom II X4 badge in reality without the L3 cache.

I highly recommend going for the i5 2500K, much better CPU, runs cooler, a lot less power consumption etc.

The i5 is the best all round chip yes, but is the extra £200 cost over an amd chip worth it to the op?

I wouldn't invest more money on a low-end board like the ASRock N68s-ucc...it doesn't even have a AMD chipset on it.

I would just take this opportunity and move onto the 2500K...

Tell them your system broke due to a power surge and you couldn't replace the parts as you couldn't buy them any more, they'll probably activate it again.
