1090T or i5 2500k?

The 95w 1055Twill work in your board, but I would go for thePhenom II X4 Quad Core 850 "95W Edition" if it's for games as it's about £40 cheaper.
Don't think it's a good idea to go the "Phenom II" X4 850, as it is bascially just a Athlon II X4 under the Phenom II X4 badge in reality without the L3 cache.
 
Most cost-efficient upgrade is to a Phenom II X4 955 BE (since it doesn't require a new motherboard). However, the i5-2500K is the best all-round gaming CPU right now.
 
I wouldn't invest more money on a low-end board like the ASRock N68s-ucc...it doesn't even have a AMD chipset on it.

I would just take this opportunity and move onto the 2500K...

really? I thought that you couldn't change your mobo with an OEM windows?


If so, I'll be calling MS this week.
