After a <10GB per month package, and ideally would like to pay £15. But so far Zen Lite at £18.37 per month inclusive for 10GB is going to be the benchmark (no experience of Zen). And as a last resort, breaking all my criteria, is BT Broadband and Evening & Weekend Calls for £13.

The telephone exchange is limited to BT Wholesale packages only, upto 8Mb. And I the property connects at maximum speed.

What I would like is:
  • No throttling, shaping, restrictions.
  • Allowance can be used any time of day instead of peak/off peak limits.
  • Easy to re-grade package to higher capacity for one month only.
  • No long contract, e.g. 12 months.
  • Dependable service, and ability to deal with faults efficiently.
  • Not a reseller of a service, e.g. Enta.

Some respected providers I have eliminated:
  • Andrews & Arnold is too expensive if want more than 1.5GB peak hours.
  • Newnet similar price to Zen while breaking criteria.
  • Fast.co.uk is too expensive for their 5GB package.

Some I need to read up on:
  • IDNet Home Starter - goes against peak/off peak limits, but price is nearer my expectation at £15.31 although only for 4GB essentially.
  • Xilo Home 5GB £17.38 inclusive.

You'll struggle to get much around £15 on a BT Wholesale connection - just the tail alone costs the ISP nearly £10 a month so there's not much room for bandwidth on top.

Personally I'd go with A&A or Zen.

How about the Xilo Office 15 package? £24 inc VAT, but you do get double the upload and a better contention/priority at the exchange.

I'm on the office 80GB pack and can't fault it.

Why not Be* upto 12mb package, truly unlimted service and it's £17 but for £2 extra p/m it's worth it if you ask me.

Also after better value for money. Althought that might be too much to ask for as pointed out by rpstewart.

Just don't want to pay for higher limit when hardly use current 20GB package.
