Heads up to anyone using Shell

Next Thursday some Shell sites will be running a promo giving you upto 10p per litre off fuel.

You buy certain products in the store and get 2p off for each one you buy, 5 deals max per fillup.

This will be as useless as other promotions similar garages run.

Spend £5 in the shop on things which cost £1.50 in Tesco and save £3 on a tank of fuel!

I noticed you get a free regular cup of coffee if you fill £25 or more of V-Power petrol/diesel today

I put £30 in and didnt claim the coffee, I'd rather drink the petrol

I did this the other day when Tesco was running its '5p off if you spend over £50' deal.

My shop came to £47.50 or something so I grabbed a pack of batteries for £3 and 'saved' myself £3 at the pump.

I guess I got a free pack of batteries but it all seemed a bit much of a muchness.

If your usual food shop is well over £50 anyway it makes a bit of sense, but it's certainly not worth pushing your shop to just over £50 just to get the 5p-off voucher.

Should have grabbed some toilet rolls, at least you know you will use them up eventually.

The real way to use the tesco vouchers is to buy them from ebay, i paid £9 for a pack of 12, which can be stacked upto 3 at a time, so 15p a litre off. This saves me over £9 per tank and will do 4 tanks, so £36 less the £9 cost = £27 saving.

Happy days and they have no unique identifiers :)

How does that work then?. I was under the impression that when the vouchers were issued they were "tied" to the receipt for the groceries / store purchases or the Clubcard holders card?. Therefore not transferable to another individual?.

And can you really stack 3 at a time?. Again, I'm not well up on this but I would have assumed there was some sort of "only one voucher per transaction" type deal going on in the small print?.

Not sure about Tesco ones but Sainsburys issues petrol vouchers which are not tied to anything. Give it to someone else if you don't have a car and it still works for them.

IIRC they're doing a spend £60 get 10p off a litre deal atm.

The ones on eBay are not tied to an account and you can stack 3 every go. I've been doing it for months.

It says on the voucher max of 3 in one go.
