You can check this on Google Shops. There's a well known retailer that also shows best sellers in a wide variety of categories, like CPUs.

The 10 core i9-10850K and 10900K are still selling in high quantities (more than the 11700k + 11900K). This makes sense, in many ways, I see them as superior to 8 core Rocketlake CPUs.

i9-10850K if priced the same at many places as the i7-11700k

so why is this a suprise ?

people look at bang for buck first

11700 / 11700K and 11900K all need to come down in price, no reason why they should cost any much than the 10700K.

10700K is arguably a better CPU than the 11700 (and costs less, especially 2nd hand), this CPU in particular should come down in price. Maybe Intel doesn't care if they take a hit this year? Or, they still have lots of Comet Lake leftover CPUs to sell.

I'm not optimistic that the 11900K will come down in price soon, but on the other hand, I think it's better that people avoid it, as it's just a bad design imo, with very little difference in it's specification vs the 11700K.

The 9900K (and other 9th gen CPUs) is a pretty bad idea, for a new build. It's more expensive than the better performing 10700K.

The Ryzen 3600 is still a fairly good CPU though.

I guess the reason I wanted to find out if Comet Lake were generally still outselling Rocketlake, is that it shows if Intel can sell sidegrades as next gen products and still sell more than the last gen.

Usually, companies would avoid selling last gen products, as it's bad for business. Anyway, I'm glad that they aren't selling particularly well, although I think the Ryzen 5000 series has a lot to do with this.
