Is there such thing which will enable the 10W iPad adapter to be used to charge the iPad and for the iPad to be synced at the same time? Such as a power pass through cable?
If not, maybe a DIY solution as below...

My plan is to produce a wall socket with USB connectors, permenently powered for 2A and for it to be connected the the computer at the same time to enable syncing. It must also work with other USB devices such as HDD's and USB headphones.

My concern is (if i'm right?) that the apple charger communicates with the iPad or iPhone to decided how much current to draw and how much is available.
I figured it probably wasn't as simple as splicing the power cables in the USB to the charger, and the data cables to the computer. Unless maybe it is?

Maybe you could shed some light on how I could make this work....

Thanks

I would do that except that the USB will be used for other things too, mostly for USB headset so it would be great if i could make a high power functional USB.

As i understand, you cant buy working high power USB hubs as the specification for USB limits them to 0.5A and therefore anything over that not complying to the specification would be illegal.
