I currently run a Q6600 with my nvidia gtx 670 OC.

I can feel that the CPU is bottlenecking the card and it is time for an upgrade. Unfortunately this means buying a whole new motherboard, ram and cooler too.

I've got a budget of £300-400, unfortunately there are a total of ELEVEN systems in this price range and even though i'm experienced weith ahrdware i have no idea which bundle performs best in games and i would really love it if some of you pros could help me out.

I want to buy the one bundle out of the below which will perform above the rest in gaming.

I tried selecting the parts individually but an overclcoked bundle seems cheapest.

""Spectre Z77 Aqua" - Gorgeous bundle, oooozing with performance! Also, with that beast of a phanteks cooler I'm pretty sure you could push it a lot further than a 4.4GHz overclock, 4.7-8 if you really wanted to. Maybe higher if you get a golden chip!

Thansk guys, will read your links now.

I went to cpubenchmark.net and looked at the results for CPU performance of each cpu, these are how they are ranked...

i7 2700K 8945
i5 3570K 7130
i5 2500K 6485
FX-6 6100 5388

I understand that the performance of a CPU in certain tasks is different from how it may perform in games so i'll get some second opinions on this. I think the AMD is out though, i'm too used to Intel to switch right now and it doesn't look like its too great even though it is a 6 core.

Any reason why you guys passed up the i7 2600k? Is the motherboard with that bundle not much good? I'm scared that the motherboard won't be very good if i go for what is supposed to be the most powerful CPU in the list of 11.

a pc is always the sum of all it's parts, when bench marking any ways, for gaming, well not so much in the real world tests like games and fps

I've bought a couple of overclocked bundles - don't count on being able to achieve 1 single mhz above hwat they've overclocked it to. It's like the chips are picked because they won't go any further.

im sorry but this is a rather bold statement.

could you back this up with some actual numbers?

I chose the Spectre z77 mainly because of the great reviews online about the motherboard and the RAM. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BU-140-OE

The motherboard's interrogated audio is supposed to be superb, so i may ditch my xonar DS, the overclocking potential is supposed to be good too but i dont believe i'll be overclocking the 3570k much further unless i opt to get some watercooling.

Overall I just couldn't turn down the Sniper M3 after reading the reviews. i'd rather get a good motherboard and a lesser cpu than the other way around, the motherboard is the foundation.

I have never built my own computer before, I'm looking into it as it does seem a lot cheaper and more fun! I shall be opening a thread for help soon enough!

I'm glad you have made your choice and I hope it was a good one.
