Hi Guys,

Im new to the fourms , even thou i shop a lot on the Overclockers Shopping Market.

Basically i have a dilema, I want to buy a GFX for my PC that can last me quiet a while, In terms of running all the latest games on HIGH SPECS maybe even run the new Call Of Duty that is coming out soon. Anyways my specs are

PSU - Coolmaster 750w
CPU - Intel Core i3 CPU - 2.93ghz
64bit Windows 7 Operating System
RAM - 4 gb DDR3

Atm i am running a ATI Radeon HD 3800 Series.

WHAT DO YOU GUYS RECOMMEND!!!!! (Cheaper Better)

OcUK GeForce GTX 460 768MB

Or spend a bit more and get an AMD Radeon HD 6850/1GB GTX460, although you don't gain a whole lot of performance for the extra £35. See here.

Probably won't max the latest games but should be playable at med-high settings.

Also, might be worth trying to overclock your CPU (assuming it's the i3 530).

+ 1 for the 460.

There is a 470 in the clearance section, but going down that route doesn't always suit everyone. As mentioned the 6850 is another option, and is closest to the OP's budget.

If it is part of OcUK's overclocked bundle, then don't worry about it as it would already be at 4GHz or higher for that i3.

or alternatively, if there's no GTX 470 in the clearance section, I'd hunt for MSI GTX 460 1 GB "Hawk". It shows occasionally even for 99.00 (I've bought it for 119 and I'm happy even with BF3 beta).

but would i get excellent frame rate with this card other then the Nvidea card, Also how do i check what speed my Cpu is running at? btw its a i3 530 cpu. cpuz??

6850 is the one I would get.

You can pick one up for £120, a tenner above budget but it is more powerful than the older GTX460 1GB as stated here.

Plus with ATI's monthly driver updates, the performance will increase drastically over a period of a few months!

I would recommend the HIS HD6850 1GB
