I'm looking at building a new gaming PC and have a budget of around £1100. I've been looking at some options and this is what I have come up with so far. Before I buy it, I was just wondering if anyone could suggest any improvements?

CPU- Intel Core i7-4790K 4.00GHz - £263.99

Cooler - Corsair Hydro H100i High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler - £88.00

Motherboard - MSI Z97-G43 Intel Z97 - £69.95

RAM - TeamGroup Elite Black 8GB - £55.99

GPU - MSI GeForce GTX 760 OC Gaming Edition 4096MB - £199.99

PSU - Corsair RM Series RM 850 '80+ Gold' 850W Power Supply - £109.99

SSD - Kingston HyperX 3K SSD 120GB - £61.99

HDD - Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB - £39.95

Optical drive - Samsung SH-118BB/BEBE - £12.95

Case - NZXT Phantom Enthusiast USB3.0 Full Tower Case - £104.99

OS - Microsoft Windows 8.1 64-Bit DVD - £74.99

TOTAL - £1082.77

IMO (assuming the most intensive task you'll be doing is gaming),
1. ditch the i7 and get an i5
2. go for a 750W or 650W power supply (EVGA and superflower appear to be good choices ATM)
3. Spend the money saved above on getting a 780 or 290
4. Bigger SSD maybe?
5. A better motherboard might be needed, someone else will need to confirm that.
6. Possibly go for air cooling so the money can be spent on other areas (see point 3,4,5)

Massively over-specced on the power supply.

i7 is fine but buy faster RAM - the cost difference is very small

Bigger SSD

Get an air cooler. Seriously. They are just as good as that Corsair, less complications / prone to failure and cool just as well (near as anyway)

Case. Hmm..bit subjective. I'd only buy NZXT stuff if I had no alternative - their warranty support is dire.

This is where my money would go.

650w supply chosen because I love Superflower and the 550w is out of stock. You could drop easily to the NZXT 550w which is made by Superflower so should be ok, but as I've already said, I'll only buy NZXT if I had no alternative
