case will probably change as its for a friend and thats their choice, what would you change? dont think you can say no to the lifetime warranty on the bfg 295 personaly but dont really know about things like HDD and mobo as my setup is C2D and i know nothing about i7

I wouldnt get the 295, its completely ovepriced and unneccessary imo, a 275 at half the price will suffice
Also why have you scrimped on the mobo? If youre getting an NVidia card youre better with the P6T Deluxe, afaik the SE doesnt support SLI - may have no plans to go SLI but Id like to keep the option if it were me
PSU is ok but not really in same class as rest of build, Id get a better quality one PC P&C (if youre not bothered about modular) Corsair or BeQuiet
HDD - the one youve selected is a good storage drive but to slow for a boot drive really, either replace with a WD Caviar Black or maybe add a smaller black to use as boot/apps (320 gig would do) and keep this one for storage

thanks for all the help so far,

minato : building for friend: i am, he's not

95thrifles : chances of him going to sli are like 0% so not really a worry, HDD thanks will take into consideration! probably change as dunno if he'd cope with two drives, he's the type to, when installing, just press next, next, next and shove it anywhere. Dunno for sure but i think ill stick with the 295 as it'll be more futureproof and hes unlikely to change for a long time

95thrifles + mjones1: what makes the corsair better than the OCZ??

thanks again aand still open to constructive critisism!

How about this:

*OVERCLOCKED* Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping (SLBEJ) 2.66Ghz @ 4.00GHz Max / Asus Rampage II Extreme Intel X58 Motherboard / Corsair XMS3 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz DDR3 Bundle - £617.23

2 x Asus GeForce GTX 275 896MB GDDR3 PCI-Express Graphics Card - £303.96

OCZ ModXStream Pro 700w Silent SLI Ready Modular Power Supply - £75.99

Samsung EcoGreen F2 1TB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (HD103SI) - £59.98

Sony Optiarc DRU-860S 22x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer ReWriter (Black) - Retail - £22.99

Sub Total : £939.27
Shipping : £10.50
Total : £1,092.24

---------------------------

£9.03 cheaper than what you had originally but more powerful due to the overclocked bundle. Your 2way GTX275 will benefit a lot from the superclocked cpu.

Will leave you to decide :p

I just ordered a similar rig but went for the Gigabyte Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R since it can be bios flashed to support SLI and costs the same as the ASUS board. Just need to buy an SLI bridge connector to go with it (£5 off the bay)

nah, ill be clocking it as it'll be fun :p not paying more to take away my fun

EDIT: and isnt the rampage a mATX?

Nope, not this one. They do have a gene version which is mATX.
Even better, if you prefer to clock it yourself, you can simply buy the parts and save yourself some. :)
