My msi laptop i think its comming to an end. Im a casual gamer, but do want something future proof in a sense. Msi laptop lasted 3 years...

No need for OS, must include monitor, keyboard and mouse.

Probably prefer an amd built, intel welcome too. I just remmber overclocking my fx 8350 back in the days when i had my last pc...

Games i play: FM, artifact, dota 2, hearthstone, overwatch, wow, and some of the latest stuff...

Might start casually streaming... or not... but i do tend to over task a lot. So normally i would have 2 games open...

Im confortable with hardware so no built systems, i can it myself..

What size/res (1080p/1440p) and Htz monitor would you want?

On my way out and noticed no reply so to get the ball rolling i've quickly cobbled together a nVidia 1660Ti and a V56 build - but you need to look at monitors and decide size/res preference and you can pick a mouse keyboard combo (the builds will probably need editing on your response - but gives you an idea):

The Vega build comes with 3 AAA games and will run 1440p comfortably - but you only have £210 to spend on monitor, mouse and keyboard

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £889.48 (includes shipping: £12.60)

Below is a nVidia build which gives you more cash (£230) for monitor/keyboad but the card doesn't have as much clout as Vega plus no games:

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £869.48 (includes shipping: £12.60)

EDIT: @orbitalwalsh @Danny75 @tamzzy - revise as required i really have thrown the above together without studying specials.

1080p is fine, dont mind the hz.

Aint the graphics card a bit of an overkill for the games i play? Would rather go ryzen 7 ?

Really the 2nd spec

So far this is what i have (posting from phone)

- asus prime b350 plus amd b350 atx mb - 81.95
- amd ryzen 5 six core 2600 3.9 - 169.99
- asus geforce gtx 1060 dual 3gb - 179.99
- team group 16gb 3000mhz - 92.99
- wb nano ssd 500gb - 56.99
- lg 25um58-p 25" 2560x1080 ips gaming super widescreen - 169.99
- cooler master masterkeys comobo rbg gaming bundle keyboard and mouse - 44.99
- kolink observatory midi tower rbg gaming case - 69.99

Total of £881.54

So im trying to get the best i can for a casual gamer, and i dont think the games i play are that demanding. All worked perfectly my laptops gtx 970m and i think a 1060 is a lot better or am i wrong lol?

My question is, will that motherboard support the ryzens comming in july ? Cause i tend to multitask a lot as i like to make the most of my limited time on the pc (work, kids, life in general takes a lot of my time)

1060 outdated now? Or will it last me atleast a good 2 to 3 years?

I mainly wanna build a pc i can re upgrade again in 2 or 3 years times. This is not a 5 year spec kinda built.

I have a 600w psu which i found will that be enough?

Any thoughts on this spec bar £900 if anyone can do a better one please do post.

You will have a better chance of running some of the ones arriving in July with an MSI B450 board. Tomahawk as in Lee's spec or slightly more expensive B450 Carbon Pro. That's bearing in mind the budget and not going all out on a more expensive board.

And avoid 1060 3GB, not enough VRAM these days even at 1080p in some games.

OcUK prices are good for most things in those specs above but not for Ryzen, given 2600X can be found nearly £40 cheaper elsewhere and comes with a better cooler too.

Psu is corsair cx600 good enough?

How does the case lee posted do vs the one i posted? Kinda like how it has room for improvements (future rads coolers for the cpu) the leds that come with it and etc..

I will def. Be changing to that motherboard to keep ryzen 3 in mind.

Rx 580 im assuming its > than the 1060?

Any better monitor options? Read some good reviews about that one in a different retailer

The Yellow label Corsair CX wasn't that great. The Grey label version is better. Should still be ok for a system like this though if you have the older yellow label version.

I changed the case to leave a bit more money on the off chance you needed a new psu. Change back to the Kolink if you prefer that one. There is also the new Kolink Phalanx which is a similar style.

The RX 580 and GTX 1060 6GB trade blows. The 3GB version is a cut down GTX 1060 so I wouldn't even bother with that version. Also you should be eligible for two free games with the RX 580 although it isn't listed on the product page for some reason.

That Monitor seems to get a decent review from the link below. There are a few Freesync 1080p 144Hz screens around that price point, but if you want widescreen and don't mind a 60Hz panel then the LG looks ok.

All CXes are basic budget PSUs made from cheap enough parts.
Couple versions (Corsair loves changing insides without changing name) were also 100W overspecced and only 500W PSUs in reality.

And it might have been stressed quite lot.
That FX8350 was very hungry CPU even at stock.

Bitfenix Formula would be major improvement.
