110igt cpu bracket not tight ?

i have a z170 pro gamer by asus but my cpu bracket for my 110igt wont tighten up fully the litte dual threaded hex bits are not threaded the full way have any one found this ?

yes but my cpu socket doesnt have that spacer behind it so the whole block is loose

A picture of your motherboard back of CPU might help

the frame is loose even after tightening the standoff screws .. it will only tighten up when the cpu cooler is attached. That's what mine is like on the z170 and GTX110i from corsair. I thought it was wrong but after investigation that is how it is meant to be. Also, I had cause to remove the stock thermal paste and re-applied some "Thermal Grizzly" .. It has lowered my temperature (at MAX) from 72c down to 68/70C .. If you have a chance, replace it now
