I want to utilise the spare G3258 I have and update my dad's ancient Celeron system.
Bits I have and bits I want to reuse below, I want suggestions for a MITX motherboard that will allow me to get the best from the G3258 either on the stock cooler or with a very cheap low profile aftermarket cooler.
Must be MITX to reuse the case.
I already have spare SSD and 8GB of DDR3 and obviously the CPU.
Must allow for some basic overclocking so he's getting the most from the CPU.
He is currently on W7 with the option of the W10 upgrade.
He obviously doesn't need a Z97 board, I think one of the H81 boards will do but I don't know anything about them. Cost isn't really an issue but I see little point in spending on something he doesn't need so a middle of the road price would be good.
I ran the Pentium at 4.6ghz but that was in a Z97 board and with a full tower sized CPU cooler, I don't expect that in his machine, but what should I be looking at for a fully stable and thermally sound overclock day to day?
