1151 v1 and v2 pins, coffee v kaby, why no burn?

From what I understand, Coffee lake CPUs need a pin mod to work in 100/200 boards, but not if they're re-branded 8th/9th gen Kaby lake dual/quad cores.

So.. if that's true, why don't the re-branded Kaby lake CPUs need a pin mod to work in 300 boards without breaking something? Huhhh.
