1155 socket pin problem !!!!!

Well i just got my new mobo out of the box ready to put the CPU in and noticed that 1 of the pins is standing taller than the rest! on close inspection the pin looks straight but is a fraction taller. Now do i try putting the CPU in and continuing the build or do i send it back explaining what i found. anyone else seen tis before?

Send it back.

If you try and install the processor and it doesn't work they'll say it's user damage.

Make sure you refit the plastic socket protector when you send it back to avoid further damage.

Remember that under the Sale of Goods Act if you take the goods back within six months of buying them the trader must accept that they were faulty at the time of sale and offer to repair or replace them. If the trader doesn't accept that the goods were faulty, they will have to prove this.
