Due to an unfortunately faulty motherboard and UTTERLY TERRIBLE RMA SERVICE FROM A DIFFERENT ETAILER, I no longer have a motherboard.

I DID have an Asus Maximus III Formula (P55 1156) and an i5 750.

I've now got £143.15 to spend on a new motherboard.
The 1155 socket motherboards have caught my eye, with their extremely good CPU's for overclocking. Of course, that would mean also getting a new CPU which would also mean I would need to sell my i5 750.

This is where you lot come in: I need you to spec me an1155 chipset motherboard and CPU. I think I can get up to £100 for my current i5 so obviously I'm going to have to cash out on one for this socket.

The less I spend on the motherboard, the more I have for the CPU; so I'm really looking for a price/performance spec. However this doesn't mean I'll cop and go for the cheapest mobo because of the price.

Thanks all,
Fledge.

You will have to spend at least £250 as the motherboards start at around £100

Thanks for the ideas lads :)
Should I take into account whether the motherboard is Z68, P67 or H67? I mean, do these categories have any defining features?

Yes, the Z68 & P68 allow overclocking of the k series cpu's, were the H67 & P61 do not. The latter 2 and certain Z68 boards allow use of the internal gpu on the cpu.

The Z68 has some extra features with regards using SSD drives.

It's a mATX board though...

Hmm I'd rather not get a micro ATX board.

£155.99 Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge)
£134.99 Gigabyte P67A-UD3P-B3 Intel P67

Does that sound good? Or, does this motherboard not do what I need? - nobody has mentioned P67 yet :D

If you don't need the featues of Z68 you could get a cheaper P67 board.

That's probably true, I only really need a sturdy board with respectable overclocking capability - although I would like to try out the touch-bios feature Gigabyte have hanging around :)
