I am looking at building a gaming PC but would I be better with sandybridge or a core i7 950?
Thanks and apologies if this question has been done to death but I value all of your views.

Thanks Mike, I meant 1155
What motherboard would you recommend for the best overclocking reliability and results?
I heard the gigabyte are the best.

It seems all issues have been resolved with the B3 issues.
What manufacturer offers the best customer service?
I used to own an evga classified but I found their UK customer service terrible.

What manufacturer offers the best customer service?

both Gigabyte & MSI have UK RMA centres, unlike Asus, who's RMA process is notoriuosly shocking, Asus have been known to take 4+ weeks & counting to deal with a mobo RMA ( there RMA centre is now in the EU somewhere, which country exactly escapes me atm ).

Sandy bridge, recently just finished my first ever build and wish I had gone with sandy bridge.Dont get me wrong the i7950 is an awesome chip i have got it overclocked to 3. 6 at this moment in time but plan to take it to 4. I just think u might get that little extra performance with sb.a lot of people are pulling off 5ghz overclocks with sb builds!

Thanks for the help.
It would seem that from a gaming perspective, sandy bridge is the best choice at the moment.
It makes me wonder why manufacturers are still making X58 boards when there is a cooler, faster, cheaper alternative.
