1156 Socket Burn ?

While reading reviews i keep coming across comments about 1156 Socket Burn mainly on P55 boards.

Has this problem occurred on H55 and H57 boards. ?

This was an issue with the initial batch of P55 boards with Foxconn sockets, I should imagine they've sorted it by now not that it was a major issue back then.

I seem to remember that they were only frying when going for extreme overclocks pushing insane voltages through them.

The Lotes sockets boards were unnafected.

I had a badly burnt socket with melted pins and a p55 ud4 and a i7 a couple of months ago, so the problem still exists. I didn't overclock either.

When did you buy it? Was it a foxconn socket?

It could have been a old stock motherboard?

But yeah in the last while I have not seen any of my mates bring back boards with socket burn at all.

I have not had any problems with my p55 and i have owned it for over a year now
