Ive not OC'ed intel for 10 years, and my buddy as never overclocked...

For gaming and only gaming, if there any point?
disabling HT as no impact on game FPS but will it let us OC more?

There isn't really any point in conventional overclocking of the CPU these days, ie voltage + multiplier increase. I'd lower the voltage while keeping the stock speeds and see what you can get away with. These chips get quite hot so you might gain some performance due to the undervolt impacting throttling.

When gaming the cpu runs at 55/60c, and hold 4.6ghz that’s the max all core boost.
