Guys,

Looking at small hatch company cars and have looked at the following 3, has anyone got any opinions on them? Test drove them all? Or any comments/suggestions. Full retail price on these as they are through leaseplan.

Audi A3 S-Line 140bhp £21,100
BMW 118d M-Sport 143bhp £22,155
Volvo C30 R-Design SE Sport 137bhp £19,105

Cheers

The 1 Series is the best car but looks crap, the A3 looks the best but is boring.

If you want to look out your window and be asthetically pleased, pick the A3. If you want the best car, pick the 118d. If you want to cut your nose off to spite your face and be different, buy the Volvo.

Job done.

I'd go and try them out for size, the 1 series is amazingly cramped compared to the A3. I know I certainly couldn't live with it, I can't even sit in as a passenger comfortably.

I test drove the audi not long ago and i wasnt impressed.

Id say the BMW out of that list, but it depends what you value most and what the car will be used for.

A difficult choice. I think I'd have the 118d over the A3 because it's by far and away the better to drive. However, if you're not bothered about cornering at Mach 2 then go for the A3 - it's much better looking, especially with the right options. Just don't buy the Volvo. :)

Is there anything else i should be considering?

It will be used for commuting about 50 miles a couple of times a week, the odd trip to london (from scotland) and general kicking about at the weekend.

Not hooked, just they seem like the premium brands in 3door hatch., havent looked at golf or civic to be honest, doesnt even need to be diesel - although preferred, but around the 20-22.5k mark, cant go over 22k though, and for me i need to have the following options

Bluetooth
Uprated Stereo
Keyless Entry
18" Alloys

If you're specifically looking at a diesel, checkout the Civic 2.2. Not the most powerful diesel on the market, but amazingly un-diesel like in smoothness.

1 series the nicest car to drive, but I couldnt put up with the looks, and the lack of kit and cheapish interior. the Volvo is the nicest inside, but at the end of the day its a Focus in drag.A3, no, horrible ride, looks bland and has a so-so chassis.Id rather go for a Golf TSI and save my money.

Scirocco is the best all round package imo, whilst the beemer has the best chassis, you dont have the engine to take advantage of that, plus everyone will think your a cheapskate :p(couldnt afford a proper beemer!)
