12 3007s on a wall!!!!!

Shame he didn't have a widescreen wall :p

6 7900GTXs...is this a linux computer farm or something?

I had two at one point and found it hard to work with them.

That is way OTT, what a waste.

Instead of 12 in one place, i would have 1 everywhere i go.

Bathroom
Kitchen
Car
Work

Huge waste of time and money. The massive resolution is totally unnecessary, the bezels make the setup useless for large-screen activities such as movie viewing, and it would take a supercomputer to play games on that.

For that £14k it must have cost him to build that, I'd rather buy:

  • A brand new gaming computer (£2,000)
  • 2x 3007WFPs to actually use (£3,000)
  • 2x top of the range HD projectors; one for the study, one for the living room (£3,000)
  • A brand new 56" DLP TV (£2,000)
  • A nice home cinema sound system (£2,000)
That said, it looks like he's pretty loaded. He can probably drop £12k on a useless setup at a whim :)

I know this maybe controversial and i'll probably get flamed for saying this.
But he is just sad and a loser lol, with that much money on that crap - what an idiot.

Its different for sure, me personally would rather have just the one high quality monitor, and have the other dvi connector to a massive HDTV. Im sure if i was loaded, i would have monitors all over the house, and plenty in the bathroom

I agree, whats the point of putting web browsers on each on if you have to stand 2 feet away to read it? And 12000 just for the aquarium screensaver or matrix code??? What a muppet.

Waste of cash, but the adage "fools and their money are easily parted" comes to mind.

Agree. It's nonsense and complete waste of time, money, energy, space and who knows what ... at the end what does he want to prove? Man, if he really like things "big", why not some high end projector ?! They are definitely *much* cheaper than his current set-up and results will be more intriguing, that's for sure. Not to mention the required GPU line up for that wall. OK ... he may like to multi task 12 screens in parallel, but in reality what's the point of that ?! He have to keep the relative distance from that wall, and I think that fonts would be rather small for him to read anything on those screens. Not to mention the "optimal" resolution, required for that wall ?! Another thing which I don't like with the screen stacking are the "gaps". It's simply not uniform picture or the "picture wall" (in his case). Not sure how much money he trashed for everything, but it's massive waste anyway and, as someone mentioned above, he could probably invest that money more wisely.

Not sure why such crazy obsession lately, that people stack their monitors up to such extent? Madness. For me, such "projects" are pointless, not inventive and we didn't learn nothing new from them.
