Hi! I can run 13 h orthos small ffts but the blend seems to fail in 50 min. I also got Bsod saying Driver irql less or equal when I tryed to play a game. Next I tried to play it no problems. Oblivion also gave me one error. The windows hd defragment freezen when I try to dedrag. The defragment problem occurs both stock and oc'ed with different bioses(f7,f8i). Could the ram be the issue even though it's running at stock with recommered 2.1? I tried memtest with stock setting two weeks ago and it got 1 pass(didn't have any time to wait longer). I'm going to test with memtest and post the results. There has been some bad geil around. Any ideas? My system:
Intel Core 2 Duo 6600@3600mhz 9x400 with 1.43125V
Gigabyte DS3 Bios:F8i
Geil Ultra DDR2 800mhz 4-4-4-12
Xfx 7800 gt(waiting for the R600)
ST3320620AS HD
Some dvd-burner
Creative Soundblaster X-fi Xtreme Music
Antec 900 Ultimate gamer+Antec Spotcool fan
Siverstone Zeus ST56ZF

I ran memtest for 11 hours and 25 minutes with the overclocked settings above memory still at stock 800mhz 4,4,4,12 with 2.1 vdimm. I got one error saying something like this:
Tst Pass Failing address Good Bad Err-Bits Count
6 28 000787687cc-1977,5mb f7ffffff f5ffffff 02000000 1
So is the ram bad or does it affect that the cpu is overclocked?

Try running orthos with the memory at 1.8 and the timings on auto, ie. 5-5-5-18 and see if you get the same problem.

A number of people have had trouble when running it at the "recomended" settings that this memory should do out of the box.

There is an accepted problem with the SPD programming but for the majority it does run happily at the recomended settings.

Well it wasn't memory issue after all. The cpu failed once again. It's strange that first it can do orthos 12hours and then only couple of minutes with exactly same settings.

I'd put everything on stock settings including CPU and see if the problem persists. You may have reached the CPUs limit or it may be overheating.

Well I ran memtest 10 hours 30 min without errors(cpu@stock). 9x400 temp was reaching 64-65 so I don't think it's overheating. Now I'm running 8x400 which is 12 small ffts stable and 9 hours blend stable(max temp 47-48). No problems so far. Except the defrag problem which even occurs when using stock settings. Maybe Corrupt installation but I can defrag with better 3rd party program. I still don't understand the differences in stability with the same settings though...
