12+ hours Prime stable, but random BSOD?

I have my AMD 4000+ running at 2.84GHz and it passed over 12 hours of Prime95 before i had to stop it. Temps are no higher than 53 under full load and i thought fine. The only problem is random reboots and BSOD - and I have no idea why it's happening.

I also had the CPU up at 3GHz and had it running Prime95 for 7 hours before stopping it, but random reboots made me lower the overclock, but the problems remain.

I'm running an A64 4000+ (12x237) 1.4V
ASrock 939dual-SATA2
2x 512 Crucual Ballistix (running at 189MHz 2.5, 3, 3, 7, 10, 2, 16 taken from CPU-Z)
7800 GT
520W Enermax PSU

whats you ram rated to run at, 200mhz CAS2 works best for most ballistix, or CAS2.5 if your upto 250mhz

What does it say on the BSOD?

My o/c'ed computer did the same and after I threw away my crappy Creative wireless desktop 6000 and installed new chipset driver from Intel it was gone and so far never came back.

(BTW I always got a USB related message on the BSOD when it happened)

Good luck

Does the board auto set to 1 then? The memory timings are all set on auto in the bios.

Not sure if it defaults to 1,

to test it, press print screen, then open paint then paste screen grab into it. his normally reboots the 1T problem pc's.

BSOD's are never random, something has to cause them. It could be a hardware conflict or power issues although your PSU should be fine. Might be some software that doesnt agree with something else on your system and cos your prime stable i think we can rull out the CPU overheating.
I would start by completely removing MOBO GFX and Sound drivers then re-instaling the latest versions to see if that helps. Make sure you instal in the right order, SP2 fully patched>MOBO>GFX>Sound.
If thats not it then try swaping hardware and try to identify any conflicts by the process of elimination.
Let us know how you get on, try to log what you are doing when it BSOD's.
Personaly id say it probably a driver conflict without knowing much more.
BTW, Droping to 2T will hit performance.
