Yeah, simple thread. Is the price increase of the TRUE over the 120X Rev.c actually worth it? I've read some reviews on t'internet, and seen that people have said there's a very small increase in cooling power by going to the pure copper beast.

Is it worth the 60% increase in cost? I'm currently running a Freezer Pro 64 that i've had for over 3 years...

X3 720 BE overclocked to 3.5Ghz, idle temp <30, load temp <45. I know those temps are good, but I'm also planning on getting a Storm Scout to go with it... The cooler looks nicer than the freezer pro, and the scout has a window.

The looks aren't the only thing. I'm also looking to get some extra cooling power for the cpu, could possibly get some further overclock, or a touch more vCore to add some more stability (currently 4+ hours prime stable on a 32-bit OS.... but now runing 64 bit, and not tortured it yet.)

I will be able to take my 3 120mm fans from my current Antec Three Hundred to put 2 on the side vents of the Scout, and use another one of them on the heatsink. Akasa Ultra Quiet fans.

Any input welcomed! Thanks in advance.

*Edit*
Oh yeah. If you want to recommend other things, please keep in mind that i use a GTX260 graphics card, so it needs to be big enough to hold that, and try to keep the total price of case and heatsink to below £130, though i can stretch a little bit. Thanks.

Those temps sound similar to mine. I run a x3 720 at 3.5ghz, but with an extra core unlocked, 25 deg idle and 40ish load. Rediculously good. Worth it? not sure.

The Freezer Pro 64 barely gets a glance in current benchmarks for cooling.... So there's very little that I can base it against. I saw the freezer Extreme in a listing against the Ultra 120X, and it got its ass handed to it by a good 10°+. The Extreme is meant to be better than the pro, but i've never seen a benchmark with the two against each other!

I'd get an improvement by just going to the Ultra120X wouldn't I? -especially considering my Freezer Pro is over 3 years old!
